Who is Kamsplate?
Hi, my friends, and welcome!
My name is Kameryn, but you may know me as Kam from Kamsplate! Somehow, you have found your way from my Instagram to here, and I am so happy you did!
Things to expect from this blog:
Documentation of my recipes and other good eats.
Travel tips and recommendations with food spots that cannot be skipped.
Details about the Supper Clubs I host.
Life updates and random stuff I do as a 20-something-year-old figuring it all out.
I am 23, almost 24, and I was born, raised, and educated in beautiful sunny San Diego, California. I love the sun and the rain, a nice green hill to lie on, a flaky croissant, and some stanky cheese. There isn’t an olive I’ve met that I didn’t like. Animals are better than people, and I wish they could talk. In my free time, I cook and feed the people I love. My favorite place to eat is outside in nature. I travel often and have no money to do so (C'est la vie). My travels typically consist of beautiful architecture, wandering city streets, natural wonders, and every pastry I can find. I am passionate about human rights and freedom for all. I believe there is a higher power of some kind. I also believe in science. I love the ocean and being underwater.
I truly am just a normal girl who wants to eat a lot of good food and yap about it.

A little more about me: (extended version)
I received a BS in Human Development and Global Health at UCSD, where I also captained the women’s soccer team. I graduated a little over a year ago and moved home with full-hearted intentions of pursuing a career as a Nurse Midwife.
My whole life, my dad has told me that no matter what I do, I just need to do it FULLY. No “one-foot-in-one-foot-out bullsh!t.” When people ask my FAVORITE question: “What are your career goals?” I explain, “ I am going back to school to become a midwife, but my real dream is to be a food blogger, traveling the world through food and culture.” I call this my selfish dream job because I never thought it would be my reality. I never thought my hobby of cooking would break the four walls of my family home, and I sure as heck never thought other people would pay me to cook for them! How nuts would that be, right?!?!?
But sometimes, the universe has a mind of its own. I started working as a private chef a few months ago. Which still feels so crazy to me!
Currently, I am cooking weekly for two families and catering summer dinner parties. I have a WHOPPING 420 followers on my Instagram, and I am writing a blog about my life and my love for food, travel, and flavor. I don’t know where this blog will take you or me; I don’t know where anything is going. I don’t know about a lot of things in my life. All I can do is cook one meal at a time. So, channeling my inner Carrie Bradshaw, this blog will be a living, breathing place where I share all my exciting adventures to come!
